The New Normal.

15/06/2020 I feel like I no longer know what normal is, it has been a very long time since I've had the courage or in fact the willingness to record my feelings. I was busy getting used to " The New Normal", not the new normal connected to the Corona Virus Lockdown, but my personal New Normal, which was me getting used to living alone without my lifelong friend, of not going to work and facing crazy times in busy restaurants, of being forced into retirement due to a second heart attack, and finally being deemed to be unsafe to drive because of damage to my memory. The memory issues were brought about by the effect of some of my medications and a possible victim of the heart attack and the subsequent medications, my thought is that the medication I was taking for the Leukemia, started the problem. But hey, whatever caused it is irrelevant, it is what it is and I just have to adjust my life accordingly. So everytime I hear the comment on the news, "The New Normal...

Why this blog?

Why did I create this Blog? Because lately I've discovered some new cafes in Dunedin, and so far I've loved all of them so I'd like to share. A couple of them are in an area of town that if you didn't know they were there you wouldn't get to try them and believe me they are worth a try. Dunedin is a city with a very long main street and to quote the All Blacks coach, "It's a Game of Two Halves". The original end, Princes street, was abandoned when the malls were created in the George Street end and the existing business relocated to George street or disappeared altogether, so what was left was empty buildings slowly becoming derelict. Except for a couple of notable exceptions, one of which was the beautiful building that housed the notable restaurant Bell Pepper Blues, it held out for as long as it could and then finally closed but that building, although the ground floor now empty, with apartments upstairs, is still beautiful. This is Weird.....

This is definitely weird, The last time I tried to open my blog it was completely inoperable and after a couple of attempts at repairing it I gave up. On a whim this morning, I opened it and there it was, working and intact....the weird moods of the internet I guess, I've been exploring some ideas for scrapping because I've got myself back into it lately and have been looking for new ideas, I've just been blown away by Paige Even's blog, her work is stunning, any other suggestions of where to check out would be appreciated. It's such a beautiful autumn morning here, the colours are gorgeous with the sun shining through the trees. Molly's missing the sun, lazy kitty is still snoozing, I think she's going through her teenage years, up half the night and sleeps most of the day missing the sun.
